O Sindicato Americano dos Roteiristas divulgou a lista dos indicados ao prêmio de 2011. Esta premiação, ao contrário das outras, não premia séries pela sua popularidade e sim o desenvolvimento das situações propostas e seus personagens.As séries que concorreram ao prêmio serão aquelas exibidas entre os dias 1º de dezembro de 2009 e 30 de novembro de 2010.
A cerimônia de entrega do prêmio será realizada no dia 5 de fevereiro.
Os principais vencedores de 2010 foram Mad Men, 30 Rock e Modern Family, como a melhor série nova do ano.
